The Dolomites are the ideal destination for a winter holiday in the mountains. No other destination seems to be able to better combine snowy nature, entertainment for all ages, pleasure and sports. Sledging
It is already a great experience for the entire family to come down into the valley on a sledge. If you combine this adventure with a slow walk and a visit in a traditional hut, you may have yourself a perfect winter day. The holiday region Kronplatz offers more than 20 well-tended toboggan runs – sometimes offering sledge rental, moonlight sledging or a lift, so that a walk may be avoided. In the immediate surroundings of our Park Hotel Schönblick you will find the Korer toboggan run at the Valley Station in Reischach.
Cross-country skiing
If you are fond of Nordic ski sports, then you will enjoy the cross-country tracks in Reischach and surroundings. Directly in front of our hotel you find a 3km-long track and the cross-country ski school Nordic with ski rental, only a few steps away. In the immediate surroundings you find many more cross-country tracks which are easily reachable via car. All in all, there are about 200km of cross-country tracks in the surroundings of Kronplatz; the giant cross-country areal „Dolomiti Nordic Ski“ offers over 1,300km of cross-country tracks in South Tyrol.
Snowshoeing
It is fun for the entire family: a gentle walk through nature, calm and exciting at the same time. Those who experience a walk through the deep snow, far away from the bustle of the slopes, do know how magical snowshoeing can be. Whether you are a beginner or a pro, whether you aim at an extensive tour to the summit or a slow walk in the valley: the Dolomites offer the ideal setting for snowshoeing. The ski school Nordic in Reischach offers all necessary equipment and connections to experienced hiking guides who lead the way to the most beautiful destinations.
Ice skating
Ice skating, figure skating, curling or hockey – ice sports have a long tradition in the Kronplatz region and are yet as popular as ever. That is why, in the winter, a skating rink is opened in almost every village; the ice skates can often be rented directly at the rink. Also Reischach offers its own ice rink in the nearby sports park Reischach. In the nearby town Bruneck you find a large ice skating hall with special opening hours for the public as well as exciting hockey matches.
Horse sleigh rides
What could be more romantic than a sleigh ride under a clear blue sky or under a canopy of stars? Riding on a sleigh through a shimmering white winter wonderland, pulled by strong Haflinger horses with your beloved or the entire family: a horse sleigh ride is always a very special experience which we organise for you gladly on request.
Paragliding
Who said that you can take off only in summer? Paragliding in the winter surely does require good shoes, warm clothing and thick gloves – beside a little bit of courage – but to float above a landscape which is magically covered in snow, can be quite fascinating. Tandem Flights Kronplatz is situated on our doorstep and invites you to take off from our local mountain Kronplatz!
